MEET DR. GILES
Formation Chiropractic & Decompression is a research-based office using evidenced-based practices to relieve your spinal pain, give you relief, and restore your spinal function. Using a variety of proven chiropractic techniques and the latest in decompression technology, Dr. Giles gives you what you want most...your life back. My name is Dr. Giles. I am proud to call the Valley my home. I grew up here, and after high school, I went to W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University where I received a Bachelor of Science in Finance. Following college, I worked as an analyst for US Airways. This was a pivotal point for me. I wanted to do more to help people, and so I decided I needed to pursue a Doctorate in Chiropractic. Now, I live and work in Arcadia where I spend each day helping others, analyzing their spines, injuries, and movements to create improvement in their total health. |
dr. giles's story
When I was 34, I was diagnosed with three protruding lumbar discs and sciatica. There are few pains that I can imagine that are worse than sciatica. I couldn't lean forward or backward more than an inch without the most extreme pain attacking me. I couldn't stand up, sit, be in a moving car, lay down properly, or even sleep for more than 2 hours in the night. It affected my relationships with people because the pain was all consuming. My wife and I were about to have our beautiful baby girl and I was about to be the dad that couldn't walk, or play with my child the way she deserves. Stubborn as I am, I dragged my feet into being treated. When I realized how this would affect my wife and child, I finally decided something had to be done.
If you're reading this, then maybe you can relate to how I felt. Of course everyone had their homemade solution for me. I was once told to just bend over and touch my toes and then it'd be all good. It wasn't until I began non-surgical spinal decompression that I found healing in my spine. I didn't just feel better though...The MRI shows that the discs resorbed, and have better hydration. I had been encouraged to "just get the shots" aka steroid injections, and get rid of the pain. While I believe pain management has a role in the healing process by reducing inflammation, it does not create the negative pressure in a disc which is essential to restoring the structure of the spine. Spinal decompression does that. That's a solution that will pay off for the rest of my life. It may not have been the most convenient treatment, but it gave me something better than convenience. It addressed the cause of my pain and gave me my life back.
